COUNCIL MEMBER YDANIS RODRIGUEZ AND COMMUNITY LEAGUE OF THE HEIGHTS TO HOST COMMUNITY-WIDE CLEANING DAY-OF-ACTION
New York, NY -- On Saturday, April 8th, 2017, from 9:30am to 2:00pm, Council Member Rodriguez will join other elected officials and Community League of the Heights at a Community-Wide Cleaning Day-of-Action.
In an effort to keep uptown streets clean and its residents healthy, Council Member Rodriguez is teaming up with Community League of the Heights to remove garbage and litter from the streets from Broadway to Edgcombe Avenue, 160th Street to 170th Street, in Washington Heights. The group, featuring dozens of volunteers alongside uptown elected officials, will comb the area in an effort to develop healthy habits for a healthy community.
Washington Heights suffers from some of the highest asthma and obesity rates in the city, particularly for adolescents. This activity will help young people and adults develop a closer care for their neighborhood, while staying active and on their feet.
