COUNCIL MEMBER YDANIS RODRIGUEZ, LiUNA LOCAL 78 & TENANTS TO DEMAND REPAIRS IN RAT-INFESTED, MOLD-COVERED BUILDING
Council Member Rodriguez and NYS Laborers Union, Local 78, Will Call for Passage of Intro 978-A, Requiring Licensed Work by Professionals for Mold Abatement to Avoid Incomplete Work
New York, NY -- On Wednesday, June 14th at 6:30pm, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will join the NYS Laborers Union Local 78 to stand with tenants in demanding immediate repairs, mold abatement & extermination in 3852 10th Avenue. The building's landlord has left tenants in this building to live for years in deplorable conditions, including asthma-causing mold and a major infestation of rats and mice.
The Council Member, laborers and tenants will call for the passage of City Council bill Intro 978-A, which would require licensed professionals to do all mold abatement work in NYC, thereby avoiding the shoddy patchwork like that employed by 3852 10th Ave's landlord. This is the latest action against the landlord of this building, following an announcement earlier this year that the building has been placed in the City's Alternative Enforcement Program.
