ART FORUM CELEBRATING WORK OF DOMINICAN ARTISTS BEGINS TONIGHT  
 
New York, NY -- Tonight kicks off the 2nd annual Art Forum featuring work from Dominican artists from March 28 through April 2 at the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center on 165th Street and Broadway.
 
This year, Artforo will honor the life and work of Dominican painter Freddy Javier with a masterful exhibition featuring unpublished works from the last 50 years.
 
Guests will also get the opportunity to enjoy a group exhibition of works of contemporary Dominican art, with a collective exhibition featuring artists such as José Cestero, Jesús Desangles, Dionisio Blanco, Alberto Ulloa, Mariano Sánchez, Joaquín Rosario, Aram Musset, Pedro Gallardo, Luigi Jiménez, among others.
 
There will also be a series of conferences and lectures designed to invoke art in the community, featuring intellectuals and experts like the historian Gamal Michelén, philologist and researcher Odalís Pérez, Councilmember Ydanis Rodríguez, Ramón Darío Jimenez, Film producer Armando Guareño, Benjamín García, community leader Moisés Pérez, and philosopher Adrian Cabreja. Live interviews with maestro Freddy Javier, chef David Núñez, singer-songwriter Gabbano will also be featured, all conducted by Deyanira Martínez.
 
The 6 day fair will be enlivened with live musical performances every night at 7:00 pm Featuring performances by Emi Antonio on Wed., Mar. 29, Alvaros Band on Thurs., Mar., 30, Zeo Munoz on Fri., Mar.31, and two performances by Gabbano and Roy Tavaré on Sat., Apr. 1.
