COMMUNITY INTERFAITH THANKSGIVING TO CELEBRATE DIVERSITY, DENOUNCE HATRED IN NYC AND BEYOND
A Gathering of Faith Leaders From Across the Religious Spectrum as well as Community and Elected Leaders to Stand as Example of Solidarity and Diversity to Embattled Nation
NEW YORK, NY
-- On Sunday, November 20, 2016, at 2:30 PM, the Hebrew Tabernacle in Washington Heights will host a community interfaith thanksgiving celebration to champion diversity and denounce the hatred America is experiencing nationwide. Bringing together religious leaders from Jewish, Christian and Muslim backgrounds, as well as local community leaders, citywide and local elected officials, will set an example of unity and a celebration of people of all backgrounds.
The event will feature readings from the major faiths, performances by childrens' choruses and orchestras as well as remarks from Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, Public Advocate Letitia James, Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and Council Member Mark Levine about the need to champion tolerance and acceptance of all peoples, remaining resolute in the values that help make New York City one of the best places in the world.
Invited guests include U.S. Senator and Democratic Minority Leader Charles Schumer, NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer.

NUEVA YORK, NY - El domingo, 20 de noviembre de 2016, a las 2:30 PM, el Tabernáculo Hebreo en Washington Heights será el anfitrión de una fiesta comunitaria de acción de gracias interreligiosa para defender la diversidad y denunciar el odio que Estados Unidos experimenta a nivel nacional. Reunir a líderes religiosos de origen judío, cristiano y musulmán, así como líderes comunitarios locales, funcionarios electos de por toda la ciudad y locales, será un ejemplo de unidad y una celebración de personas de todos los orígenes.
El evento contará con lecturas de las principales religiones, actuaciones de coros y orquestas infantiles, así como intervenciones del Concejal Ydanis Rodríguez, la Defensor Público Letitia James, la presidenta del Concejo Melissa Mark-Viverito y el concejal Mark Levine, sobre la necesidad de defender la tolerancia y la aceptación de todos los pueblos, permaneciendo resueltos en los valores que ayudan a hacer de la Ciudad de Nueva York uno de los mejores lugares del mundo
