New York, NY--On Monday, June 9th, 2014, the NYC Council Committee on Transportation will hold a hearing to discuss the Taxi and Limousine Commission's 5 Borough Taxi Plan. After one year of the sale of 6,000 new Street Hail Livery, or "Green Cab" licenses, the committee will examine the effectiveness of the new service to the outer boroughs and Northern Manhattan, as well as the TLC's plans for the future. As the de Blasio Administration has announced that they will sell the second tranche of 6,000 licenses in August of this year, the committee will hear from the TLC about the successes and struggles over the past year and how they plan to distribute the new licenses. The committee will also hear from the for hire vehicle industry leaders about their take on the plan.
