NYC Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez to be Recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Lions Club International - Licey al Medio Chapter 45th Annual Celebration  

NEW YORK, NY - Tomorrow, Saturday, November 4, 2017, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will be recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Lions Club International - Licey al Medio Chapter in Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. This award will be presented to Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez during their 45th Annual Celebration for his commitment to his hometown Licey al Medio where he started his fight in the 1970's for the improvement of the education system, housing, and economic development. 
 
The Council Member will be also visiting his former primary school Blanca Mascaro and his former High School Mercedes Peña during his visit to his hometown tomorrow.

What : NYC Council Member Receiving "Lifetime Achievement Award" by Lions Club International - Licey al Medio Chapter.

Visit @10:00am: Tour School Blanca Mascaro located at Highway Duarte 88, and High School Mercedes Peña located at Peña & Reynoso Street #88, Licey al Medio, Santiago De Los Caballeros.

NYC Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez was born in Licey al Medio, Dominican Republic, and moved to NYC when he was 18 years old. While working as a taxi driver, Ydanis earned his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree at the City College of New York. As a leading voice at the NYC Council he has brought change in transportation, education, economic development, housing, police reform, healthcare, and environmental policy, ensuring low-income families have an equitable path to the middle class. Ydanis envisions a New York City where all children can reach their potential, a New York City for all.

El Concejal de la Ciudad de Nueva York Ydanis Rodríguez Será Reconocido con el Premio al la Excelencia y el Logro por el Club de Leones Internacional - Lions Club International - Local de Licey al Medio en su 45 Años de Celebracion

NUEVA YORK, NY - Mañana, Sábado 4 de Noviembre del 2017, el Concejal Ydanis Rodríguez será reconocido el premio al la Excelencia y el Logro por el Club de Leones Internacional - Local de Licey al Medio en Santiago De Los Caballeros, República Dominicana. Este premio será entregado durante los 45 años de celebración de este Club de Leones al os al Concejal Ydanis Rodríguez por su compromiso con su ciudad natal de Licey al Medio, donde comenzó su lucha en la década de los años1970 por la mejoria del sistema educativo, la vivienda y el desarrollo económico.   

El Concejal también visitará su antigua escuela primaria Blanca Mascaro y su antigua escuela secundaria Mercedes Peña durante su visita a su ciudad natal mañana.

El Concejal de Nueva York Ydanis Rodríguez nació en el Licey al Medio, República Dominicana, y se mudó a Nueva York cuando tenía 18 años. Mientras trabajaba como taxista, Ydanis obtuvo su licenciatura y maestría en el City College de la Ciudad de Nueva York. Como una voz líder en el Concejo de Nueva York, ha traído cambios en transporte, educación, desarrollo económico, vivienda, reforma policial, salud y política ambiental, asegurando que las familias de bajos ingresos tengan un camino equitativo hacia la clase media. Ydanis imagina una ciudad de Nueva York donde todos los niños puedan alcanzar su potencial, una ciudad de Nueva York para todos.
