2016 or 1956? Cabinet Appointments Reminiscent of Earlier, Exclusionary Age in America
New York, NY - On Friday, December 16, 2016, Members of the NYC Council, led by Council Members Ydanis Rodriguez, Carlos Menchaca, Assembly Member-Elect Carmen De La Rosa and other elected officials will call out President-Elect Trump for appointing a cabinet that fails horrifically in its representation of Americans.
To date, President-Elect Trump has appointed just three cabinet members out of the 14 total positions that are not white men. He has not appointed a single Latino member of the cabinet. This utter disregard for people of color at the highest levels of government is a deeply troubling sign of what the next four years could be like under the Trump Administration.
