COUNCIL MEMBER YDANIS RODRIGUEZ AND ADVOCATES RALLY TO SAVE SMALL BUSINESSES IN NEW YORK CITY

 
New York, NY -- On Wednesday, April 25th at 10AM on the steps of City Hall, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will join Friends of SBJSA, Take Back NYC, SaveNYC, NYS Coalition of Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, NYC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Dominicanos ProDefensa, Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, East Village Community Coalition, NY Women's Chamber of Commerce, and Humanscale NYC for a rally to save small businesses in New York City and in support of the Small Business Jobs Survival Act introduced by Rodriguez this session.

The Small Business Survival Act (SBJSA), introduction 737, will level the playing field for every small business that rents commercial space in NYC - retail stores, dentists, working artists, small manufacturers, accountants, restaurants, bodegas, delis, barbershops, salons etc. - by requiring:
  1. Right to a lease renewal
  2. Right to a 10-year renewal lease term (to tenants in good standing)
  3. Binding arbitration to establish a rent increase that is reasonable for both landlord and tenant
  4. Inclusion of all commercial tenants (not limited to storefront/retail)

CONCEJAL YDANIS RODRIGUEZ Y OEGANIZACIONES PRO-PEQUEÑAS EMPRESAS SE PRONUNCIAN A FAVOR DE PROYECTO DE LEY

Nueva York, NY - El miércoles 25 de abril a las 10 am en los escalones del Ayuntamiento, el concejal Ydanis Rodríguez se unirá a Friends of SBJSA, Take Back NYC, SaveNYC, NYS Coalition of Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, NYC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Dominicanos ProDefensa, Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, East Village Community Coalition, NY Women's Chamber of Commerce, y Humanscale NYC para una maifestación a favor de las pequeñas empresas en la ciudad de Nueva York y en apoyo de ley de Supervivencia de Trabajos en los Pequeños Negocios introducida por Rodriguez en esta sesión legislativa.

La ley de Supervivencia de Trabajos en los Pequeños Negocios (ó SBJSA como es conocida por sus siglas en inglés), proyecto de ley 737, anivelará el campo de juego para pequeñas empresas que alquilaenlocales comerciales en Nueva York incluyendo tiendas minoristas, dentistas, artistas, pequeños fabricantes, contadores, restaurantes, bodegas, delis, peluquerías, salones, etc. requiriendo:
  1. Derecho a una renovación de arrendamiento
  2. Derecho a un plazo de renovación de arrendamiento de 10 años (para inquilinos con buena reputación)
  3. Arbitraje obligatorio para establecer un aumento en el alquiler que sea razonable tanto para el propietario como para el inquilino
  4. Inclusión de todos inquilinos comerciales (no limitado al escaparate / venta minorista)
