SECOND ANNUAL SUMMIT ON LATINOS IN NYC
New York, NY -
On June 1, 2018, three of CUNY Latino Studies institutes, along with other partners, will convene the second annual Summit on Latin@s, a participatory forum of community members, advocates, elected officials and other stakeholders to assess the conditions of the Hispanic population in New York City and to collectively craft answers to address some of the most salient and difficult problems facing this large and broad community.
The purpose of the day-long conference is to develop and strengthen the voice of the community. The conference is a platform to help establish a shared set of goals and a shared agenda that allow Latin@s to speak with greater force on political and social matters for the collective progress of our communities and that of our city.
Last year in June 2017, Latin@s leaders in New York convened the first annual Summit on Latin@s (SOL), to discuss the conditions of the Latin@s population in New York City and to collectively craft recommendations to address some of the most salient and difficult problems facing this large and broad community.

SEGUNDA CUMBRE ANUAL DE LATINOS EN NYC
Nueva York, NY - El 1 de junio de 2018, tres de los institutos de estudios latinos de CUNY, junto con otros socios, convocarán la
Segunda Cumbre Anual de Latinos, un foro participativo de miembros de la comunidad, defensores, funcionarios electos y otras partes interesadas para evaluar las condiciones de la población hispana en la ciudad de Nueva York y para crear respuestas colectivamente para abordar algunos de los problemas más importantes y difíciles que enfrenta esta gran y amplia comunidad.
El propósito de la conferencia de un día es desarrollar y fortalecer la voz de la comunidad. La conferencia es una plataforma para ayudar a establecer un conjunto de objetivos compartidos que permita a los latinos hablar con mayor fuerza sobre asuntos políticos y sociales para el progreso colectivo de nuestras comunidades y el de nuestra ciudad.
