NEW YORK to honor the memory of the 265 victims of flight 587

Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez; U.S. Congressman Adriano Espaillat; NYC Mayor's Office, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer; Carlos Castillo, Consul General of the Dominican Republic in NY; NYS Senator Marisol Alcantara, NYS Assemblywoman Carmen De La Rosa, Community Leaders, family and friends - among others - to unveil "Flight 587 Way" with a street co-naming ceremony in honor to the memory of the 265 victims of this tragic accident.
On the Morning of November 12, 2001, American Airlines Flight 587 bound to the Dominican Republic crashed into the water near JFK International Airport. All 265 victims that included 251 passengers, 9 crew members, and 5 people on the ground died in this terrible tragedy which took the lives of mostly Dominicans and Dominican-Americans. This is the second deadliest plane crash in the United States aviation history, and to many in the Dominican community is very important to remember this fateful plane crash.

Nueva York, NY -- Mañana Domingo 29 de Octubre a las 1:30pm, Oficiales Electos, líderes comunitarios y las familias y amigos de las víctimas realizará una ceremonia de co-nombramiento para revelar la calle "Flight 587 Way" en la esquina noroeste de la calle 181 y la avenida Amsterdam localizada en la parte alta del Manhattan, NY.
En recuerdo del trágico accidente del vuelo 587 de American Airlines con destino a la República Dominicana, todos los 265 las víctimas que incluyeron a 251 pasajeros, 9 miembros de la tripulación y 5 personas en el suelo murieron serán honradas a través de esta calle
