Council Transportation Committee to Discuss Tomorrow
Legislation on Car Sharing and Community Notice of Parking Changes Also Up for Discussion
New York, NY -- On Monday, December 12th, at 10 AM, the NYC Council Transportation Committee will hold an oversight hearing to discuss the Dept. of Transportation's management of on-street parking, with a look at how this valuable resource can better serve communities across the city.
The committee will hear testimony from the DOT, industry representatives and advocates on 4 parking-related bills. The DOT is expected to provide updates on major car sharing, and parking initiatives
Intro 267: A local law to reserve spaces in public garages for car share services
Intro 873: A local law to create a program in which car share companies are granted dedicated on-street parking spaces
Intro 954: A local law requiring the DOT to inform businesses of any permanent parking regulation changes
Intro 1234: A local law requiring the DOT to provide notice to community boards and local elected officials when changes to metered parking are planned.
