TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE TO HOLD HEARING ON BILLS PROVIDING ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING RELIEF AND MORE AFFORDABLE TRANSPORTATION FOR NEW YORKERS

New York, NY--On Monday, June 30th, the NYC Council Transportation Committee will hear two bills that could have tremendous benefits for New Yorkers, saving them both time and money. The first, Int. 20 (Rodriguez) would give drivers relief when it comes to alternate side of the street parking, allowing them to park immediately after a street has been cleaned as opposed to waiting the full duration of the ASP time.

The second bill, Int. 295 (Garodnick), would require large employers to offer pre-tax transit benefits to their employees, which could save many up to $450 a year in transportation costs.

Members of the de Blasio administration are expected to testify on both bills as well as advocates both in support and opposition.
