UPTOWN RESIDENTS GET LAST CHANCE TO VOTE ON MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECTS
New York, NY -- Sunday, April 3rd, will be the last chance residents of upper Manhattan will have an opportunity to vote on major capital projects in the Participatory Budgeting process. The closing exposition will take place at the YM&YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood at 54 Nagle Avenue, from 3pm-5pm.
Over the past week, pop up voting sites across the community have received a great response, with many community members of all ages coming out to support the exciting projects on the ballot this year. These projects include playground upgrades at NYCHA complexes, parks and schools; bus countdown clocks and bus pads for better service and infrastructure; and classroom technology upgrades at several local schools.
The final voting day will feature displays about each project, as well as the local community advocates who put these projects forward for a vote. Many are expected to attend the closing expo.
