On Wednesday, November 28th, the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) will recognize
policymakers and influencers who are working to empower and advance the Latino community, and advocating for telecommunications policies that protect people of color.

Local awards ceremony honoring Washington D.C. trailblazers whose achievements, generosity of spirit, and courage under fire have greatly empowered, benefited and advanced the Latino community.
HONOREES INCLUDE:
Senator Booker
has dedicated his life to speaking on behalf of and building opportunities in forgotten communities, especially communities of color.
He has been a leader among Senate
colleagues
on prison phone reform
and a champion for an open internet.
Congressman Cardenas represents California’s San Fernando Valley
and the American consumer at large. He has been an outspoken advocate
for benefits of media diversity and a leader in Congress
for responsible oversight of media consolidation.
Representing clients who generally have less money and resources
than their competitors in major industries on which society depends,
Spiegel is dedicated to improving the economic well-being of the communities
and members they serve.

Wein represents the interests of low-income clients
at the federal and state level on energy and utility issues.
