New York, NY -- On Saturday, April 22nd, New York City will go "Car-Free" for the day, in recognition of Earth Day and as a celebration of the potential of open streets.
The event will kickoff with a
press conference at 10:00 AM featuring elected officials and major Car Free NYC partners at the Flatiron Plaza on 23rd Street and Broadway.
At
12:00 PM Noon, Council Member Rodriguez will join Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams at the Montague Street "weekend walk."
At
2:00 PM, Council Member Rodriguez will join uptown elected officials, NYS Assembly Woman Carmen De La Rosa, NYS Senator Marisol Alcantara and the office U.S. Congressman Adriano Espaillat, as well as uptown organizations participating in the Uptown street closure Car Free Day activities. Council Member Rodriguez will announce the winners of District 10 Participatory Budget process.
