CALLING FOR MORE RESOURCES TO COMBAT THIS HIT-AND-RUN EPIDEMIC IN NEW YORK CITY

, NYC Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will be calling for more resources to combat this Hit and Run epidemic that is affecting all our communities across New York City after another fatal hit and run happened this morning in the Bronx where two people were struck, one fatally, at 5:30am this morning. The driver fled on foot and the police are still looking for him.
This fatal hit and run happened a day after the "Hit and Run Alert System" went into effect in New York City. This law, introduced by Council Transportation Chair Ydanis Rodriguez, requires the city to establish an alert system that will notify the public of any hit-and-runs resulting in physical injury or death and will provide details about the vehicle involved. The notification may come through email notifications, text messages, telephone calls, television broadcasts, radio broadcasts or social media.
