ADVOCACY UPDATES

Dear Dana Point Boaters,

As you may recall, in October, we wrote a letter to Joe Ueberroth (DPHP) and copied James Campbell (OC Real Estate) asking for a reply to a list of questions compiled by concerned boaters. Click here to read the letter and questions. We requested a response by October 31st and did not get any response. We did this per Supervisor Bartlett’s instructions when asking for harbor information.

When we did not receive a reply from Mr. Ueberroth, we wrote a letter to Supervisor Bartlett asking her to obtain the answers to the questions. Click here to read the letter. We requested a response from the Supervisor by November 30th and, as of this writing, have not received a response from the 5th District Supervisor or her office.

Next week, this list of questions will be elevated to 5th District Supervisor Elect Katrina Foley to address for us. We feel confident she will push for answers and respond in a timely manner.

At the end of October, we were advised our Class Action Case was transferred to a new Judge, Lon Hurwitz. Judge Hurwitz was recently moved to the Complex panel that hears class action cases.

We are also trying to obtain updates from the CA Coastal Commission regarding the enforcement issues.

As soon as we have any news, you will be the first to know.

In the spirit of the holiday season, your Dana Point Boaters Association will once again award the Most Spirit Award to the boat having the most fun during the Dana Point Harbor Parade of Lights on December 9th, 10th, and 11th. We will be watching and will announce our favorite fun boat before Christmas.

In closing, please ponder this question. Isn’t a donation to the DPBA Legal Fund worth an investment in hopes of reducing the cost of slip rates in the future? We hope you respond with a resounding YES and donate today.

Thank you for your generosity and continuous support!

Legal Endeavors are Expensive

Lastly, legal endeavors are expensive, and we appreciate all who have donated to our legal fund.

Please consider doing so today. If you haven't donated, consider an ongoing monthly donation by clicking the box "Make this a monthly donation," click here. These legal costs keep mounting as we continue moving forward with the Class Action Lawsuit. Your information will remain private.

In the meantime, please continue to submit your comments on slip rate increases and other subjects by Click Here.
All donations are private and your identity will never be shared
