Registration is open for the 69th annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show, the world’s largest gathering of aviation electronics manufacturers, distributors and maintenance organizations. Avionics 2000 was appointed an official Tecnam P2012 Service Centre, reinforcing Tecnam's commitment to excellence in avionics and aircraft support across Australia.


Master Switch Avionics received its FAA Part 145 repair station certificate.


AeroMech received new FAA STCs for the Cessna Citation Latitude and Citation Longitude.


Western Aircraft, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, recently passed renewal audits for both its AS9110C and OSHA SHARP certifications.


ACI Jet announced the successful completion of the first article installation for Cabin Management Solutions’ in-flight entertainment and cabin management system on a Challenger 605. ACI Jet also announced that it has committed to SalesEdge Commerce, a leading eCommerce platform for aviation parts and services developed by Inventory Locator Service, LLC, a CAMP company. 


West Star Aviation announced its partnership with CAMP systems’ portfolio company, CORRIDOR, as the exclusive launch partner to unveil a technology solution designed to streamline and optimize maintenance operations. West Star Aviation also announced its recent designation as an authorized overhaul facility for the Embraer Praetor and Legacy jets landing gear, achieved through a partnership with Héroux-Devtek Inc.


The Blackhawk Group announced FAA approval of its XP66D Engine+ Upgrade for the Daher TBM 700 series aircraft; launched a new STC program that will bring modern ice-protection technology to the legacy Piper Meridian fleet; and announced a new partnership with Hartzell Propeller to expand support and streamline service across a wide range of aircraft platforms.


Duncan Aviation announced a new advantage for Embraer operators: a dedicated 14-member airframe team at the company’s Battle Creek, Michigan, facility. Also, a Duncan Aviation avionics installation team from the satellite facility in Atlanta, Georgia, recently finished installing a Gogo AVANCE L5 in a customer’s Learjet 75 in their hangar in Birmingham, Alabama. Duncan Aviation also expanded its Mobile Nondestructive Testing services.


Garmin announced new weather features on Garmin Pilot Web, its web-centric flight planning platform that complements the Garmin Pilot mobile app.


Gogo announced that the first Gogo Galileo FDX STC for the larger of the two electronically steered antennas are now available. 


Becker Avionics announced the launch of its new BXT Wi-Fi Module, a compact add-on designed to deliver ADS-B In capability to the BXT6500 family of ADS-B capable 1090ES transponders.


Avidyne announced the SkyTrax 3000, a dual-band ADS-B In system designed to add modern surveillance capabilities without expensive cockpit overhauls.


Cirrus announced the expansion of its recurrent Vision Jet flight training capability at Cirrus Scottsdale. The Cirrus Vision Jet also celebrated 700 deliveries and an expanded ownership support ecosystem.


Yingling Aviation completed its first winglet installation as Yingling on a Falcon 900, delivering a structural modification performed by its sheetmetal team.


Nighthawk Flight Systems will begin delivery of its Guardian Avionics Suite in December 2025, with the price starting at $33,200 for a single display and $39,900 for a dual display system. The lightweight cockpit display system will initially be available for Part 23 Class I/II, Part 22, and experimental aircraft.


Innovative Advantage, part of the Heads Up Technologies Group, Inc., is celebrating its 20th anniversary serving the business aviation community and has expanded the company’s AVDS distribution system capabilities unveiling the introduction of Dolby Atmos decoding and passthrough technology, and an Airmont gateway card enabling DIRECTV decoding.


Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced the official opening of its new Texas repair and overhaul center, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and its fleet of corporate, demonstration and support aircraft has surpassed 3 million nautical miles flown on sustainable aviation fuel blends.


Boeing expanded its exclusive distribution agreement with Ontic to include global exclusive distribution rights for the Honeywell RDR-4 A/B Weather Radar system and the P440/660/880 Primus Weather Radar family, for commercial customers.


Acron Aviation and Airbus joined forces to offer an upgrade solution for the 25-Hour CVR, marketed as SRVIVR25. Acron Aviation also announced the acquisition of Honeywell’s Thermal Switches Product Line.


Honeywell is expanding its Flight Management System Guided Visuals offering into Europe to equip pilots with greater situational awareness and safer approaches while flying into challenging airports. Honeywell also announced that Florida-based Slate Aviation has selected Honeywell’s JetWave X satellite communications system to bring high-speed internet across its private fleet of up to 35 Bombardier CRJ-200 and Challenger 850 aircraft. Honeywell also is partnering with Gulfstream to certify JetWave X for Gulfstream’s GIV, GV, G450, G500, G550, G600, G650 and G700 aircraft. 


Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has expanded the functionality of its FlightAware AeroAPI solution, providing accessible, comprehensive flight history for any airport, operator or city pair of interest. Collins Aerospace also announced its Venue smart monitor integrated with Airshow HD will enter service on a Dassault Falcon 7X in November. 


FreeFlight Systems announced that Universal Avionics has selected its Dual-Band ADS-B solution for integration with Universal’s Connected Avionics ecosystem and InSight Flight Deck.


uAvionix received FAA System Design Approval at the end of August for its FlightLine Airborne Position Reference Tool (APRT).


Bongiovi Aviation has announced a collaboration with Innovative Advantage to bring Dolby Atmos surround sound experience to the private and business jet market.


Astronics Corp. acquired Bühler Motor Aviation from Bühler Motor Group in an all-cash transaction.


K-State Salina CEO and dean, Alysia Starkey, was inducted into the Kansas Aviation Museum Hall of Fame.


Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics was designated an “Opportunity College” by the new 2025 Carnegie Classifications for higher education institutions in the U.S.

AIR Avionics ACD: Lightweight, Multifunction


Germany-based AIR Avionics carved a healthy niche in the glider and bush plane markets with its space-saving and lightweight line of forward- and retrofit-line of avionics, including traffic systems and VHF radios displayed on a compact multifunction display it calls the AIR Control Display, or ACD. The company attracted attention at AirVenture Oshkosh last summer with the interface, also partnering with Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics as its primary U.S. distributor with plans to penetrate the U.S. retrofit avionics market. Embry-Riddle Launches Associate Program in Air Traffic Management


The FAA’s air traffic control facilities nationwide are chronically understaffed by over 3,500 at the agency’s last count. Although Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy recently announced efforts to supercharge the hiring process, there remain hurdles to reaching adequate full-performance controller staffing. One is the time required to train new personnel once hired, which begins with a three-month introductory ATC course at the FAA’s academy in Oklahoma City. The agency’s limited classroom space at the academy also limits the throughput of qualified candidates.


Enter Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s new Associate of Science in Air Traffic Management program to prepare students for a career in ATC and is explicitly designed to increase the number of qualified trainee controllers for FAA and contract towers.
