223 Members of Congress Tell President Obama, "No User Fees!"

On Friday, April 5, a record number of 223 congressional members signed a letter to President Barack Obama opposing user fees.

In part, the letter states, "Commercial and general aviation, including aviation manufacturing, are vital industries in our nation, providing millions of jobs and making important contributions to our economy... Imposing a $100 per flight fee on commercial and general aviation is the wrong approach, and we respectfully request that you abandon this idea once and for all."

The minister convened this session to hear Canadian aviation industry concerns with the government's management of the aviation regulatory process and any adverse effects this may be having on the industry from both an operational and industrial perspective. The AEA was the only organization at the round-table session that did not represent an organization that actually operates aircraft.
