According to AOPA News, general aviation accidents and fatalities declined in 2010 for the fourth consecutive year, according to new National Transportation Safety Board data. In total number, the 1,435 GA accidents marked a 20-year low, even as estimated total flight hours began to climb for the first time since the Great Recession began. There were 450 GA accident fatalities in 2010, down from 478 in 2009.
ASSOCIATED AIR CENTER, StandardAero's large transport category, VIP Aircraft Completions Center in Dallas, Texas, announced it has achieved supplemental type certification for the installation of an Aircell ATG-5000 wireless internet on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft. The STC was accomplished with the support of the company's business aviation completion facility in Springfield, Ill.
AVIONICS & SYSTEMS INTEGRATION GROUP announced its partner, and avionics manufacturer SHADIN AVIONICS, has completed early development milestones for the iPad flyTab EFB avionics interface module. The AIM has completed initial functional milestones and satisfied stability testing of its passive iOS interface for Class 2 iPad EFB integrations.
The aviation program at KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY'S Salina campus has added five new Cessna Skyhawk 172 G100s to the university's fleet of learning aircraft.

2012 AEA Regional Meeting Dates and Locations The Aircraft Electronics Association has secured dates and locations for five of its seven regional meetings in 2012.
