AERONAV announced its formal TCCA STC for installation of Aspen Avionics Evolution EFD1000H/MFD500H dual display, night VFR configuration in the AS350 Series Helicopter. The STC covers various interfaces and allows the end user the flexibility to integrate a single panel installation or a more diverse multi-panel/multi-interface incorporating GPS/nav/TIS inputs.
 
DUNCAN AVIATION's first mobile application is now available for download on iPads, and improves operators' access to information about the company's service locations, contact information and department listings. 
 
RICK GARCIA, president of Gulf Coast Avionics Corp. announced both GULF COAST AVIONICS and PACIFIC COAST AVIONICS have added the Flight Companion from Matchbox to their product offerings. The FC-1 Flight Companion is a new lightweight multi-functional electronics instrument that provides a variety of alerts to assist pilots with their cockpit management functions.
 
GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE CORP. named THOMAS "TOM" HUFF, a retired U.S. Navy test pilot with more than 25 years of experience, to serve in the newly created position of aviation safety officer. Huff reports to LARRY FLYNN, Gulfstream president. 
 
WEST STAR AVIATION announced that MIKE SAPANARA has joined its team and will lead avionics technical sales. In his new position, he will initially focus on large avionics projects, such as major glass retrofits, complete cabin management upgrades and Satcom installations at the West Star's East Alton and Grand Junction locations.

The Alliance for Aviation Across America recently launched a wide-scale economic impact survey to outline the benefit of general aviation on businesses, local economies and communities around the nation. AEA Wired will highlight a different state each issue:

Aircraft: 2,993

Jobs: 1,374

Econ. Impact: $1.75 Billion

Per Capita: $426

Lawmakers Question Taxpayer Cost of LightSquared 

Tuesday, April 10, two lawmakers sent a letter to the Obama administration requesting an estimate of how much the federal government has spent in the review of LightSquared. More... 

 

Universal Avionics announced all of the donations from its Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser at the AEA's 2012 Convention have been totaled and $10,852 was raised.
