AEDC was honored to host Empire State Development representatives Earl Thomason, Director of Small Business, Bette Ye, Senior Director of Entrepreneur Development, and Jingshu Zheng, Senior Program Manager of Entrepreneur Development at its office recently. The team met with partners and toured tri-lake businesses. This visit celebrates the several decades of AEDC’s no-cost business counseling services and training provided as an EAC.

AEDC Participates In Business Skills Series Training at North Country Chamber of Commerce

Director of Lending Jamie and Executive Director Victoria enjoyed presenting an “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” session to a robust group of students at the North Country Chamber of Commerce’s Business Skills training series.


The series provided a wide complement of expert speakers and connection to resources for existing and would-be entrepreneurs. What a great group of students and as always, expertly executed by our friends at the North Country Chamber of Commerce!

Adirondack Day in Albany

AEDC recently convened, with dozens of partners, at the Legislative Office Building “well” in Albany to showcase the vibrancy and offerings of our unparalleled Adirondacks.


Legislators from inside and outside of the park showed their support for the region and great conversation and comradery were enjoyed, as all celebrated the gem that our region is in New York State.

"Coffee & Conversations" at TACC

Lending Director Jamie and Business Counselor Santana spent a recent morning at the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) hosting breakfast and conversations with local businesses.

AEDC Welcomes Dr. Turina Parker to its Board of Directors

AEDC is delighted to welcome Turina Parker, Ed.D. to its Board of Directors. Dr. Parker is the District Superintendent for the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex (WSWHE) Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES). Her skills and passion for workforce development and education for budding entrepreneurs greatly enhance our leadership perspective in this area. Welcome, Dr. Parker!

AEDC Embarks on Business Lending Partnership with the City of Plattsburgh

At its April 17th Common Council meeting, the City of Plattsburgh approved an agreement with AEDC to provide administrative support for the City’s Revolving Loan Fund. The goal of this partnership is to increase the City’s capacity to administer its funds to foster economic growth and development in the City of Plattsburgh.


AEDC is delighted to work with the City of Plattsburgh to spur small business investment and growth through helping to deploy on-hand capital. The City of Plattsburgh joins the Town of Plattsburgh Local Development Corporation, the Village of Saranac Lake and the Village of Potsdam in working with AEDC for professional support of their revolving loan funds.
