The world is in a race against climate change. Will we shift away from our fossil fuel economy within 12 years to avert the climate catastrophe predicted by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (

)? The Sunrise Movement of young people and the advocates for the New Green Deal believe we can, we will and each of us has a role to play.
I am so very pleased to announce that the Alliance for Environmental Leadership's next Community Workshop, June 27th 6:30 PM in the Cypress Room at the Placer County Government Center (off Bell Rd.)
will feature regional leaders of the
Sunrise Movement
- young people united to stop the climate crisis and create millions of good jobs in the process.
I heard these inspiring young people at a Town Hall in Auburn a few weeks ago. The nation-wide Sunrise Movement is not looking left or right - they are looking forward. Their message, their plan, their faith, gave me hope and "brought the house down" at the Town Hall. Mark your calendars, join us on the 27th and invite friends and neighbors, invite your elected officials in all levels of government, invite young people in your life.
