Team,
This past fall, AES Indiana and AES Ohio launched a new Graphical Work Design (GWD) platform based on SSP and SAP. While the launch did not meet our users’ expectations nor our own Highest Standards Value, we are taking steps to ensure the success of this platform.
We have formed a cross-functional Agile team led by Barry Feldman and supported by Hugo Vasquez, Gustavo Flores, and our consultants from KPMG. This team will incorporate any input we receive including the discovery efforts from David Baldwin (Indiana) and Greg Weathers (Ohio).
We are currently focused on the following priorities:
- Ensuring our ability to accurately close the books in both Ohio and Indiana.
- Addressing and stabilizing issues with the existing platform which hampers usability. Specifically targeting data conversion issues, integration issues, and platform bugs (such as syncing and crashing issues).
Once the system is stabilized, we will involve a larger team that focuses on:
- Implementing both process and tool improvements to improve our team’s ability to execute their work and deliver safely for our customers.
- Identifying a long-term solution - build and roadmap and execute toward the long-term solution.
- Lastly, we’ve been actively listening to your feedback and are committed to providing you with a weekly update to the GWD user community, which will come from the Agile Team, ensuring everyone is aware of the progress.
