Event Name: Robert Godfried: An Equitable Americorps Could Tackle The Biggest Problems Facing Our Nation

Host: New York Society for Ethical Culture

When it comes to addressing the crises affecting this country, national service organizations can help. One in particular, AmeriCorps, the nation's largest service program, has the experience to show that they are up for the task. However, philosophical change on an organizational level is necessary if we want to see a future full that we aspire to create come to fruition. Guest speaker Robert Godfried, a policy fellow at Next100, will discuss what that change needs to be and how AmeriCorps could help us tackle the devastation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, economic inequality and more.

Memorial Service for Law'nence "L" Miller

On March 19th, we celebrated the life and legacy of Law'enence "L" Miller. Held in-person and on Zoom, we heard from multiple members of the Ethical Culture community share their memories of a man so beloved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Zoom Presentation with The Freethought Society and Special Guest, Chetan Ahimsa

On March 10th, alongside our friends at The Freethought Society, we hosted a Zoom event with special guest, actor and activist, Chetan Ahimsa. He spoke about Periyar, a social activist/politician who has had a major influence on how Chetan fights for equality. He also discussed his own activism experience as well.
