During our Activism at a Distance Salon this past fall, we laid the groundwork on ways we could improve our efforts in fighting the many problems in our criminal justice system as well shared some ways we are taking action. On January 30th, we held our latest All-Society Platform, "W.E.B. Du Bois: Will the Truth Set You Free." Special guest Dennis D. Parker of the National Center for Law and Economic Justice read a speech that civil rights' icon W.E.B. Du Bois gave to the NYSEC in 1949.
