Renewal Reminder

The grace period for 2024 license renewal ends December 31, 2023. If you submitted your renewal but have not received your new ID card, please contact Lea Anna Meadows immediately at 334-240-9301 to make sure the renewal was received and processed.

If you renewed your license online an email was sent to you with your pocket card. The email will be from the Board it will be from [email protected].

If you need the email with your RF card resent, please let Lea Anna know.

Licenses not renewed by December 31, 2023, will be revoked. The Board is required by law to send revocation notices to all non-renewing licensees, including those who, for whatever reason, intentionally allowed their license to lapse.

Alabama Forestry Association, State Representatives Host Cookout for First Responders

Members of the Andalusia Fire Department and Andalusia Police Department were among the first responders who attended a cookout on Thursday, Nov. 2, hosted by the Alabama Forestry Association, Sen. Josh Carnley and Rep. Matthew Hammett on the Andalusia City Hall campus.

We had an amazing turnout to the 2023 AFA Jasper Area Regional Reception. Thank you to all of those who joined us and a special thanks to the many sponsors who made the night possible.

We had the best time celebrating Alabama’s Woods to Goods Week across the state with our members! Thank you to all the members, students and public officials who participated. We are always proud to celebrate the impact the forest industry has on the State’s economy, environment, and people.

What a time celebrating women in government by hosting “Women in the Woods” at Little River State Forest during Woods to Goods Week! These female leaders learned hands-on the importance of a controlled burn, what is needed to control a wildfire, and even how to operate a bulldozer!

More than 175 loggers converged on Prattville, AL for the ALC Annual Meeting. We welcomed loggers from all over Alabama, and even a few from Mississippi & Georgia.

Congratulations to the 2023 Alabama Outstanding Logger of the Year recipient, Brian Lewis of Lewis Timber Inc.

Governor Ivey Prohibits Burning Statewide

Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday issued a statewide ‘No Burn Order.’ Today, she signed a statewide Drought Emergency Declaration which prohibits all outdoor burning in Alabama. This order is effective November 9, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. Central Standard Time.

Governor Ivey Awards HudsonAlpha, HudsonAlpha Wiregrass More Than $380,000 for Alabama Timber Research Project

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey awarded HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology $383,268 today through the Alabama Department of Economic & Community Affairs (ADECA). The purpose of this project is to provide those working in Alabama’s timber industry a low-cost genomic tool to identify and verify the type of tree planted and growing in stands throughout the state.
