We are excited for the return of the Stamp Out Hunger food drive in Arlington! After being canceled due to the pandemic for the past two years, AFAC is partnering with the National Association of Letter Carriers in this nationwide event. All food collected in Arlington will come to AFAC!
On Saturday, May 14, residents can leave non-perishable food donations by their mailboxes for their local letter carrier will pick up and deliver the food to AFAC. To see our list of most wanted items and alternate drop off sites, click here.

Two More Food Distribution Options for Families
On Wednesday, April 6, AFAC reopened a food distribution center at The Springs, an APAH property and headquarters. On Tuesday, April 26, we will reopen Tuesday evening distribution at Nelson. Click to read more.
Client Survey Report
AFAC's annual Client Survey Report is now available to read. Surveys were conducted in February 2022 over the course of four weeks. In total, AFAC received 1,154 responses, a 52.8% participation rate. Click here for more information.
Urban Institute Report
Partnering with AFAC and Arlington County's Food Security Task Force, the Urban Institute released a research report on improving food security and access in Arlington. AFAC has already addressed many of the food related recommendations and will continue to make sure our services are accessible to any family in need.
AFAC volunteers will be at the Cherrydale Safeway (3713 Langston Blvd) on April 23 & 24 from 10am - 4pm. Stop by this weekend and purchase extra items while you shop to donate to AFAC!

Volunteer Updates
Evening Check-in Volunteers Wanted
We are looking for 2-3 volunteers willing to commit to a once a month shift on Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30 PM (sometimes until 8:00). You would be responsible for checking in our clients for our evening distribution. For details, click here.

Volunteers at Local Farmers' Markets
We are excited to pick up donations from farmers’ markets once again! During the peak farmers’ market season, AFAC sends volunteers to glean or collect produce donations from vendors at the end of the market hours. To find out which markets we will be at this season, click here.

Huge thanks to Arlington Little League for including an AFAC food drive as part of their opening day ceremonies. Players collected 2,294 pounds of food! Thank you to Wakefield's JV baseball team (pictured) for assisting with the food collection!
