Richard Neal is a painter and sculptor working at the Chalkboard Studio in Barnstable, Massachusetts. He was born in Washington, DC, grew up in Maryland and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. His work has been exhibited in many group and one-person shows and is included in numerous private collections.
His work was featured in Chelsea, New York City at PopSock Monkey and also at the NKG Gallery in Boston. He was also recently exhibited at the Dadian Gallery in Washington, DC, at Winston-Salem College in North Carolina, at the Tao Water Gallery in Provincetown and at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, MA. His art is represented in Debbie Forman's book Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: People and Places released last year. You can also see his most recent set design for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, running now at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod's new Fellowship program will award a Performing Arts Fellowship in 2016 and a Creative Writing Fellowship in 2017.
