American Fork High School
Principal's Message

Just For You
Value for All
I learned the value of hard work by working hard.
~ Margaret Mead

We strengthen our work ethic each time we work hard. It's a lesson our children can learn. But how can we compete with their notions of being a YouTube star or a gamer? Teaching our children about the value of hard work is also teaching them perseverance, patience, and strength. It's a lesson in the pride that comes from accomplishment, the importance of setting goals, and learning from both failures and successes. Most important, it's a lesson in learning to respect and connect with all those who work hard and make an honest living from the simplest to the most complex of jobs. This school year let's work on helping our children learn the value of hard work.
With something to think about . . .

Sincerely,
Daniel P. Weishar
Principal
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE
American Fork HS is holding Parent Teacher Conference on September 26 from 4 - 8 p.m.
SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Parents who participate on the School Community Council (SCC) assist in developing the yearly school improvement plan by working to identify the school’s most critical needs and recommending a course of action to meet those needs. Additionally, the council members are responsible for allocating the School LAND Trust Funds, which are intended to be used for implementing components of the school improvement plan. Also, the community council assists in developing and implementing the staff development plan, and advise the school’s principal regarding programs and other issues related to the school environment for student success.

AFHS has 3 SCC seats open for the upcoming school year. If you are interested in serving on our SCC, please email Melody Apezteguia at  [email protected]   to express your interest.
