As we near the end of the year, I want to share how truly transformative your generosity can be for the 527 young children attending Journey House Actions' (JHA's) two early childhood development centers in rural Gashora, Rwanda.

Your gift today can be the reason a child attends school without being hungry, allowing them to learn and develop in the most critical pre-kindergarten years. This holiday season your financial support of our Fourth Annual Food Basket Appeal stretches far beyond immediate relief; it becomes a lifeline to a future of infinite possibilities offering dignity and hope to those young children and families looking for a hand-up, not a hand-out.

During this joyful season of giving, we ask for your support once again. Your heartfelt donation will help:

• Provide two nutritious meals each day to 527 students at JHA's two early childhood development centers,
• Feed 250 to 300 community children each afternoon who are not able to attend the JHA centers due to capacity limitations. For most of these children, it is their only meal of the day,
• Support JHA's dairy (67 cows and calves), piggery (200 pigs), and vegetable (7 acre) farms to build food security,
• Purchase more than 100 metric tons of rice, corn maize, and beans to supplement the farm production, and
• Build kitchen gardens where individual families learn to plant and grow their own vegetables at their homes so they can become more self-reliant.
