Director's Report

The band is more than halfway done with the first pass on learning the marching band show. This is the most show the band has had on the field this early in many years. Congrats to the students and staff for their tremendous work.

Enjoy the long weekend (we will be away from email ourselves!) and we will see the band again on Wednesday, 9/3.

For Amador is our name,

Mr. Grantham & Mr. Fell

Calling for Responsible Adults!

Are you interested in being an RA this season? (Responsible Adult, chaperone for the band at football games and during competitions)

If you'd like more information about what being an RA is all about, please come to our RA Orientation Meeting on Saturday, September 6th at 9am in the Choir Room at Amador. The meeting will start right after morning drop off for the day's practice. We will go over what a typical day is like when helping as an RA and answer any questions you may have.

Please note that to volunteer as an RA, you must have at least Level 2 clearance through PUSD. This includes fingerprinting and TB testing. If you have not started your clearance process, do so ASAP. Please join us and mark your calendars now. We hope to see you there!

Join the beer pouring team!

Calling all beer pourers!

We are kicking off the regular football season in September and sign ups are out for those certified.

Beer pouring is a great way to meet fellow band parents and help AFM at the same time, not to mention lowering your student's donation ask by at least $225 for every event you volunteer for.

Contact Susan Bowen at funbpour@gmail.com for more details.

Snack Donations for Wednesday night snacks

We need your help to feed snacks to our Big Purple Band! Every Wednesday evening, we serve snacks after band practice. Parents can send nut-free snacks that can be dropped off outside the band office before practice, or bring them along when you come to watch practice at 8:30pm.

Thank you for supporting our students and helping us keep this tradition going strong!

Marching Band and Color Guard Parents!

Hello Amador Marching Band and Color Guard parents! Football games are coming up in September, and the weather can be hot. It is very important for our kids to stay hydrated, and this is where you can help! We need parents to clean and fill water bottles for each game. For this job, you do NOT need any volunteer clearance! This is a great way to help out the band and color guard without having to go through the clearance process. Please check out the sign up genius below and see if you can help out. Thanks!
