Director's and AFM President's Report

Director's Report

With a really strong showing at WBA Regionals (just before the rain started!) and a successful Friends & Family wrapped up with our friends from Foothill, Dublin and Emerald we turn our attention to our final competitive weekend of the 2025 season at WBA State Championships. The Marching Dons take the field Saturday night last in 5A at 8:30 pm. Wishing all the students good skill as they wrap up what has been a memorable and outstanding run for the band. Thank you to the army of parent volunteers once again giving their time to support the band on the road to Clovis. We hope you all enjoy a WELL deserved break and that you get some rest and time with friends and family.

For Amador is our name,

Mr. Grantham & Mr. Fell

AFM President's Report

We are finishing up Marching band season and while the past 3 months have been busy and exciting, we are turning our eyes forward to the upcoming concerts, band and strings performances, choir and the Hometown Holiday Parade.

We are so grateful to our parent community for the generosity you have shown in support of our music program. So many of you have volunteered your time, money and resources to help make us a success. If you haven’t yet made a contribution to the music program, we hope that you will consider doing so. Every gift, no matter the size, plays a vital role in helping us fund equipment, instruments, clinicians and event transportation, and so much more.

There are many ways to contribute. Monthly donations, semi-annually, matching gift programs through employers are all great options and your donation is tax deductible. Click here for more information.

Together, we can foster the joy of making music and ensure our students have the resources they need to succeed. Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

Ann Danen, AFM President

Corporate Matching Program

Did you know that many companies will match donations their employees make?

This means if you give a donation to the band, your company might give the same amount, doubling your support!💜💛

Not sure if your company offers this? You can check using this link.

It’s an easy way to make your gift go even further. Thank you for supporting the band!

Congratulations to Our

All-State Honor Band Students

We’re excited to celebrate the students who have been selected for the 2026 California All-State Honor Band after a highly competitive audition process. This year, Amador Valley High School is proudly represented by a record sixteen students.

Congratulations to our students on this achievement, and to Mr. Grantham, Mr. Fell, and the AVHS band staff for their guidance and support.

Volunteer Opportunities

Cheering Squad

We’d like to do something special for our kids as they leave for State Championships tomorrow Saturday, November 22

Imagine: As the loaded buses pull away from Amador, there is a crowd of parents and families on the sidewalk cheering them on, waving signs, making noise and showing how proud we are of all of them! Would you like to be a part of this? Simply park your car when you drop off your kids and gather with us along Main Street. Bring signs, noisemakers, cheering voices and show the kids how proud we are their accomplishments this season!

All are welcome and encouraged to attend parents, kids, dogs, grandparents…

Last Road Trip for the Year

WBA Marching Band Champs!

Here we are, the last competition weekend for the season for marching band.

Thank you everyone who has signed up to volunteer for this big weekend. There is still one spot left for helping with the unloading when we arrive home Sunday night, in fact more are welcomed without signing up for the unload! Just come on down when we announce the ETA for the trailers and buses to arrive at AVHS on Sunday, help with the unloading and greet the students!
