Director's Report

Thanks to all who turned out for the Fall Family Preview on Saturday. We will be finishing the music and drill to our final production this weekend. The fall band concert was also nicely attended-congratulations to the musicians on turning in fine performances! With band photos behind us and our next football game tonight we are in full swing.

Our first competition is coming up on October 18. Stay tuned for updates and information in the coming weeks. As a reminder, we give the band the Saturday of Homecoming off so no practice on October 4

AFM President's Report

We had a wonderful time at the Fall Preview, last Saturday September 20! Families gathered to watch the band show, eat hand-crafted Indian food and enjoy our "band family". There will be more opportunities to see the performances in the coming weeks, including the Wednesday night practices at 8:30pm. The big Foothill vs Amador game tonight is going to be big--you won't want to miss it!

There is an opening on the AFM Board for VP of Treasury. This individual will be responsible for processing payments, deposits, tracking expenses and reporting to the Board on a monthly basis. It's the perfect position for someone who has accounting experience and is passionate about our band and music programs. Please reach out to president@amadormusic.org if interested.

Please join us on Monday, September 29 at 7pm for our first General Meeting of the school year. We will meet over Zoom and review all of the upcoming events and plans for the next few months. Zoom Link | Passcode: f93s2B

🌟 Thank You! 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our Indian Rice Bowl fundraiser! Your generosity made it a wonderful success. 👏 Big applause to our amazing GRUB Team for preparing such delicious meals—we couldn’t have done it without them! We had a fantastic turnout, and your support means so much to our band and color guard family.

Another huge thank you to our Korean famillies for hosting snack night on Wednesday! The delicious treats and your generosity made the evening so special for our band kids. We're so grateful for your support and everyone who helped to protect the yummy treats from thunderstorm and rain!

Thank you to our Spirit Wear team for diligently selling spirit wear to our Sea of Purple!

Your Voice Matters – Protect Music Programs

At the recent school board budget meeting, we learned of a $9 million shortfall for next year, and difficult cuts are being considered. Our community’s voice is vital to protect music programs.

The district has created a brief, 2-question Community Input Survey.

👉Please take a moment to complete it and share the importance of K-12 music education for our students:

October is nearly here and there is one Sunday night Prime time game! If you are looking for ways to help lower your donation ask, beer pouring is a great option. We have a fun group of parents and enjoy making money to benefit AFM! November and December months will come and go pretty quickly so contact Susan Bowen at funbpour@gmail.com to get more details!

Important Forms

Here's the link to the Fall 2025 Marching band dietary restrictions form.

Marching Band and Color Guard season means lots of snacks during practice/games/competitions and meals at overnight competitions! AFM will do our best to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Please fill out this form.

*If your child has a severe allergy, you may want to consider packing food for the trip that you know is safe, as we will not be able to guarantee there is no cross-contamination.

We need volunteers to provide water for the band at competitions!

Hello Amador Marching Band and Color Guard parents! Competitions are starting in October, and it is very important for our kids to stay hydrated. This is where we can use your help! We need parents to clean and fill water bottles for each competition. For this job, you do NOT need any volunteer clearance! This is a great way to help out the band and color guard without having to go through the clearance process. Please check out the sign up genius below and see if you can help out. Thanks!
