Congrats to the 2023 AARP Challenge Grant Winners

Eight grants were made to New Jersey communities in this year's AARP Community Challenge grant program. From Age-Friendly North Jersey, the Borough of Glen Rock received a Capacity-Building Microgrant for Walkability. More info here.

New Age-Friendly Publication From the Alliance

The September 2022 New Jersey Age-Friendly Virtual Fair team has published a commentary in the Journal of Gerontological Social Work. This article draws from theory on how community events can help bolster local age-friendly efforts and expands this phenomenon to the statewide level. Read here.

New Funded Projects

Age-Friendly Teaneck has been awarded an Inclusive Healthy Communitees (IHC) grant for their new Community Begins at Home initiative. This demonstration project is intended to help people with disabilities remain in their homes of choice.

A team at the Rutgers Hub for Aging Collaboration has received funding from the Eugene Washington PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute) Engagement Awards Program. This project aims to build relationships between Village members and researchers. This project is led in partnership with Village to Village Network and RAND Corporation. Read more here.

Regional Plan Associates (RPA) hosted fantastic webinars on Parks and Open Spaces and Transportation. Don't miss their upcoming program on Age-Friendly Housing, August 15

On September 7, learn about the many property tax programs relevant to older New Jerseyans. This webinar is co-hosted by the Age-Friendly NJ Statewide Collaborative and New Jersey Advocates for Aging Well.

Registration is open for the Age-Friendly Bergen County Roundtable Conference, which will be held on September 22 in Paramus. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.
