As we embark on a new year filled with possibilities, I am honored to introduce myself as your new AFP Fort Worth Metro Chapter President. It brings me immense joy to lead this vibrant community of dedicated fundraising professionals, and I am eager to work alongside each of you in fostering our shared mission of advancing philanthropy through education, training and advocacy.
I am thrilled to invite you all to our first meeting of the year on January 8 at ACH, featuring a distinguished speaker, Missy Gale, CFRE, President & CEO of M. Gale & Associates. Missy's presentation, titled "American Generosity – How Americans Give Now," will delve into trends in philanthropic giving, exploring the evolving landscape and its implications for nonprofits in the wake of the pandemic and social unrest.
Missy’s topic promises to be enlightening and timely. The past few years have been tough on our sector, and we have been challenged in unique ways. In the New Year, we would love for you all to join us in continuing to actively cultivate a nonprofit community where open communication, shared insights, and mutual support flourish. In addition to our monthly meetings (you can arrive early to network!), our chapter’s peer learning program offers an opportunity to build deeper relationships with your peers, exchange ideas, and lend a helping hand when needed. There are opportunities to join AFP board committees, network during social events and special programs, and participate in our local conference and National Philanthropy Day celebration. In cultivating our community in these ways, we not only strengthen our own initiatives but contribute to the greater success of our shared mission.
I hope you will join us for what promises to be an insightful year as we navigate the changes and challenges in philanthropy together. Here's to a prosperous and impactful 2024!
Warm regards,
Hillary Bessinger, CFRE
AFP Fort Worth Metro Chapter President
