In recent years, donor advised funds (DAFs) have experienced remarkable growth and have become an increasingly popular philanthropic tool in the United States. In fact, grants from DAFs to qualified charities totaled an estimated $45.74 billion in 2021, representing a 400% increase in the last 10 years!
With DAFs, donors can make contributions to their funds and recommend grants to local nonprofits whenever they choose. This flexibility allows donors to respond to pressing community needs, support emerging initiatives, or contribute to established organizations over time. DAFs are changing the philanthropic landscape, and we as fundraisers should all be paying close attention.
The North Texas Community Foundation (NTCF) is at the forefront of harnessing the power of DAFs to support local nonprofits. NTCF's deep ties to the North Texas community enable them to identify critical areas of need and connect donors with nonprofits that align with their passions and values. Through their knowledge of local nonprofits, NTCF helps donors make informed decisions, ensuring their charitable investments create lasting change. NTCF serves as a valuable partner, working with donors to harness the potential of DAFs and support local nonprofits, ultimately building a stronger and more vibrant North Texas for all!
We are privileged to have the North Texas Community Foundation’s Rose Bradshaw, President & CEO as our presenter for July’s chapter meeting. Her diverse experience and expertise in philanthropy, strategic partnerships, and effective giving strategies will undoubtedly enrich our understanding of donor advised funds and their impact on local nonprofits.
We hope to see you on July 10 at ACH Child and Family Services!
