Monthly News & Updates

March 2024 | Issue 3.24

President's Message

Happy (almost) Spring everyone! I hope you have been taking advantage of the warmer weather swings this past month to get outside and out of the seasonal depression we all seem to suffer from – I know I have! Sometimes it can be hard to find time to step away from the computers that dominate our work life, especially in this post-pandemic era.

In fact, you have probably spent some mental energy thinking about how to make your digital work more automated so that you can focus more of your limited time on doing what all fundraisers aim for – building deep connections with your donors. While our March chapter program is titled “AI, Machine Learning, and Digital Fundraising”, this topic is not focused on encouraging you to spend more time on the computer! By learning how to use AI tools to optimize digital fundraising, you’ll be able to make online donations a more efficient and, believe it or not, personalized experience for your online donors. Investing in the time to improve, streamline, and automate your online fundraising efforts will allow you more time in the future to building relationships with donors. Your future self will thank you! Additional information on March’s chapter program is included in this newsletter. I hope you will join us. (Please note that this meeting will be on the third Monday rather than the typical second Monday to avoid conflicts with Spring Break.)

Speaking of time away from the computer, we have some great opportunities to socialize and network coming up in the next few months. I hope you took advantage of our Peer Learning Groups sign-up! Information on the kick-off social for that program will be coming soon. The DFW Philanthropy in Action conference is coming up quickly (June 6-7), so please register to reserve your spot. It’s a privilege to have such a rich learning and networking experience hosted locally, so I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity! Our IDEA and National Philanthropy Day teams are looking to build committees of AFP members, which offer a great opportunity to get plugged in! Please feel free to reply to this email newsletter with any questions you have regarding the above opportunities!

I am looking forward to seeing you on March 18!
