Dear AFP Greater Detroit Chapter Members and Friends,
I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to all who contributed to making the November 8 National Philanthropy Day (NPD) dinner a wonderful celebration. The event was a tremendous success for the chapter and the evening was a great tribute to all who drive philanthropy in our region. Congratulations and thank you once again to the many
Distinguished Volunteers and
awardees in eight major categories who were honored. Each of you are an inspiration!
As you know, it takes a team effort to pull off an event of such scale. Thank you again, and hats off to the volunteer leaders and committees who made this event possible: Sommer Brock and the entire NPD Planning Committee; Steve Ragan and the entire NPD Awards Committee; Rebecca Hepner and the Sponsorship Committee, which includes the chapter Board of Directors; and of course, our tireless chapter management staff.
We'll wrap up the chapter events for the year with the annual meeting on December 6, featuring keynote speaker Matthew VanBesien, President of University Musical Society. Matthew's journey to the University of Michigan is an interesting one, and I hope you will join your AFP colleagues for some inspiration and a little break during the busy fourth quarter.
Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving!
Tricia Brosnahan, CFRE
President, AFP Greater Detroit Chapter
