Chapter Update - December 22, 2017
We Can Still “Be the Cause” – Make Your Gift Today!
Our involvement in AFP has individual meaning to each of us. It could be a learning moment at a luncheon that helped you move forward in your career. Perhaps it’s a connection you made at an AFP event that has become a mentor or friend. It might have been a scholarship, assistance with membership, a free webinar or something more.

You can pay it forward with a gift to the Be The Cause campaign through the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy.  Click here to make your gift today. All gifts made before December 31 will count toward our Chapter Goal and help us earn additional benefits to share with our members in the coming year.

Be sure to proudly indicate your chapter affiliation on the gift form. Thank you for your participation.
Wide-Ranging Issues Highlight December Luncheon Discussions
Fundraising ethics, racial equity in development, and the rewards and frustrations of the development profession – all these were examined in depth via spirited discussions at AFP’s December education luncheon.

The luncheon program began with a presentation by Marcus White, Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s VP of Civic Engagement, on the results of GMF’s recent and highly successful “On the Table” event (5400 participants, 200 locations, 74 zip codes). With that model as inspiration, each table of luncheon attendees queued up a wide-ranging conversation of their own.

Ethics was a consistent theme among the conversations...

Hey (Your Name Here), Did You Make “The LIST?”
Some of 2017’s year-end lists are more meaningful than others

Hey, Associated Bank! Hey, A.C. Buhler Family! You made The LIST!

Hey, Senator Herb Kohl! Hey, Rockwell Automation, Patty and John Mueller, and Sheldon and Marianne Lubar! You made The LIST!

Hey, (insert names of dozens of people you never heard of), you made The LIST too!

Did YOU make The List?

Volunteers Wanted: AFP Education Committee
Education is a pillar of what AFP does for its members. Our chapter has benefitted greatly from an excellent group of volunteers who help develop quality programs throughout the year.

Our 2018 Education Committee will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, January 10, at 8:00 am at Stone Creek Coffee, 422 S. 5th Street in Milwaukee. Under the direction of our new VP, Lindsay Just, this group has some great plans underway and is always happy to welcome new volunteers.
