Shape the Future of AFP VI

Leadership Roles Available, Apply Today!

Dear AFP VI Members,

Are you ready to take your leadership skills to the next level and make a lasting impact on the future of our chapter and fundraising on Vancouver Island? We are excited to invite you to apply for key leadership positions within AFP VI! This is a fantastic opportunity to shape our chapter’s direction, expand your professional network, and contribute to our vibrant community.

We are currently accepting applications for the following roles:

  • President-Elect
  • Secretary/Treasurer
  • Membership Chair

Although we have a dedicated Board of Directors, these roles are essential for achieving official board status. Without them, AFP VI will not be able to continue as a chapter in 2025. To ensure the future of our chapter, we need your support in filling these key positions.

What's in it for you?

Successful applicants will receive:

  • A complimentary two-year AFP membership, and
  • A free two-year membership for a colleague (if relevant to you or your organization) who agrees to serve as a Member-at-Large or in a Committee role. If these colleague spots remain unfilled, stand-alone Member-at-Large or Committee roles will be available.

What to Expect:

While the roles differ, you can expect:

  • A great group of colleagues dedicated to supporting you,
  • 5-6 board meetings per year, currently held over Zoom from 12-1 PM,
  • A manageable volunteer workload that can easily fit into your schedule,
  • Opportunities to grow within the board and expand your leadership experience.

This is an incredible chance to grow professionally while contributing to the success of AFP VI!

How to Apply:

Please email afp.vancouverisland@gmail.com with a brief statement of interest, including information about your professional and/or volunteer fundraising experience, or feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the roles. Applications close on November 1.

We can't wait to see who steps forward to help lead AFP VI into the future!

Sincerely,

Board of Directors

Association of Fundraising Professionals, Vancouver Island Chapter

P.S. Know someone outside of AFP VI who would be a great fit? Please share this opportunity with them!

Job Postings

Salary range is now required for AFP Vancouver Island job postings

In line with AFP Global and in order to promote gender and racial pay equity, we require that a salary range be included for all job postings. This will make negotiations easier for both employer and candidate, and will also help save time and resources for employers by ensuring that those who apply are candidates whose skills, experience and salary expectations align with the requirements of the role.

In addition, research has shown that posting the salary range increases the reach and attention ads receive by 30%. AFP Vancouver Island job postings are an effective way for employers to reach qualified applicants, committed to the sector and we thank all past, present and future employers who choose to post with us.
