BOTSWANA
With Botswana now open, Safari Outfitters is currently partnering with two of our top outfitters for safari hunting in this country. Both have significant experience in hunting Botswana for Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Plains Game. We've worked with these same outfitters for many years in other countries and we are 100% confident in sending our highly valued clients to hunt with them.
Elephant size is very good, Buffalo are large and plentiful as are Leopard and various Plains Game species. We suggest that you contact Safari Outfitters with your interests and then we will proceed from there by addressing any and all questions in detail. Not all species are always in one area so we would visit with the outfitters and get their very best suggestions depending on what you are looking for. Following is a list of Botswana elephants by tusk weight taken by one of our outfitters: 83, 85, 95, 99.25, 88, 78, 64, 63, 52.
Most area allocations are by the year at this time so camps while very comfortable are not permanent. Our outfitters are hopeful that lease times will be lengthened in a year or two . Elephant for 2021 is pretty much sold but there are options for 2022 and onward. At this writing we have one 10-day 2021 Kalahari Leopard hunt available which may be discounted some due to short notice. Before any possible discount is applied to the hunt, the usual cost is $46,500 including Leopard trophy fee. Other expenses would be bait animals, dip & pack, transfer to and from camp/charter flights and firearms permits. This hunt could sell at any time so before booking, we will need to confirm it as still available by the outfitter.
Unfortunately, importing elephant from Botswana to the US at this time is not possible however, John Jackson of the Conservation Force is confident that elephant that there will be chance of importing Botswana elephant into the US on a case-by-case bases sometime in the next few years. In the meantime, outfitters are set up to have your tusks accurately cast in resin after making molds from your tusks. This price has been running around $1,250 per pair. The tusks will remain in safe keeping with the outfitter.
