AGC AT WORK FOR YOU
Blackstone Valley Technical High School Graduates 2nd Class of ACE Students

Another group of Blackstone Valley Tech students have completed their ACE Mentorship Program! On Monday November 25th, juniors from the Blackstone Valley Technical High School gave individual presentations on their experience in the ACE Program and received their certificates of achievement.

"They showed me a different side to construction and changed my perspective on what actually happens behind the scenes. Hearing their stories that led them to where they are, led me to the conclusion that I want to be just like them in my career and do what I love" said Maribeth Buteau a senior in the Construction Technology program at BVT.

AGC MA launched "AGC MA/ACE Building Future Leaders Program for the Blackstone Valley" back in 2017 and is ready for our 3rd year! Over the past 8 weeks the students participated in hands on activities, learning about structural engineering, contract negotiation, project schedules and were treated to a tour of the new Attleboro High School project led by their mentors.

We would like to thank our very special group of volunteers for their time and support of the ACE students.

AGC OF AMERICA

AGC - Autodesk Safety Harness Grant Program

AGC of America is partnering with construction technology provider Autodesk to launch a one-time grant program that addresses the need for better-fitting personal protective equipment (PPE) for women who work at heights.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), falls are the leading cause of private sector worker fatalities in the construction industry. Everyone who works at heights, whether it's on a roof, scaffolding, or the edge of a tall building project, should have properly fitting safety harnesses, yet not all contractors have the supply they need to better protect women in construction. To help address this, Autodesk is providing $75,000 in grant funding to AGC of America to supply in-need contractor members with fall protection harnesses sized for women. The grant program will fund the purchase of approximately 300 fall protection harnesses. To learn more and apply for the grant click here.
