National Stand Down Today!
Join the AGC and your fellow construction contractors across the country TODAY for a national safety stand down dedicated to educating employees on preventing the spread of COVID-19.

IMPORTANT: Continuously ensure workers and subcontractors who are on the jobsite follow social distancing and other coronavirus infection prevention measures after the stand down.
What is a Stand Down?

A Stand Down is a 10-15 minute meeting with your workforce to review the applicable safety and health guidelines in place for COVID-19.

During the Stand Down, employers MUST continue to observe the current recommendations for social distancing by separating their workforce into groups of 10 or less and maintaining a minimum of 6 feet between persons.

Join the NAHB for a Stand Down Event Next Week
With municipalities cracking down on jobsites not adhering to safety standards, NAHB is calling for its members, and all residential construction companies, to pause all work for at least 10 minutes for a national safety stand down on Thursday, April 16 , to educate workers on what they should do to stop the spread of COVID-19. The NAHB has provided resources in both English and Spanish for a virtual or on-site Stand Down.
IMPORTANT: Continuously ensure workers and subcontractors who are on the jobsite follow social distancing and other coronavirus infection prevention measures after the stand down.

NAHB Coronavirus Webinar Series Continues This Week

NAHB held six webinars last week to help members understand the small business and tax relief provisions in the landmark Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the $2.2 trillion stimulus package recently signed into law. These webinars gave members an opportunity to ask questions directly to NAHB staff experts and our outside counsel. Recordings of these webinars are available on nahb.org (member log-in required).

Red Cross Requests Blood Donations from COVID-19 Survivors

The Red Cross is seeking people who are fully recovered from COVID-19 and may be able to donate plasma to help current patients with serious or immediately life-threatening COVID-19 infections, or those judged by a healthcare provider to be at high risk of progression to severe or life-threatening disease. People who have fully recovered from COVID-19 have antibodies in their plasma that can attack the virus. This convalescent plasma is being evaluated as treatment for patients seriously ill with COVID-19.

Governor Abbott Temporarily Suspends Certain Statutes To Allow For Appearance Before Notary Public Via Videoconference
Governor Greg Abbott today suspended certain statutes concerning appearance before a notary public to execute a self-proved will, a durable power of attorney, a medical power of attorney, a directive to physician, or an oath of an executor, administrator, or guardian. These suspensions temporarily allow for appearance before a notary public via videoconference when executing such documents, avoiding the need for in-person contact during the COVID-19 pandemic.
