The Vermont House Education Committee has passed H.955, a groundbreaking bill aimed at restructuring the state’s public education system.


​The legislation seeks to tackle critical challenges, including declining student enrollment, aging school infrastructure, and inequitable access to educational opportunities.

Week 12 at the Statehouse felt like the stretch of a project where the framing is done, inspectors are scheduled, and everyone’s eyeing the punch list, because whatever doesn’t get finished now isn’t making it into this season’s build.


With crossover behind us and the Legislature settling into its end‑game rhythm, the focus this week wasn’t on bold new ideas, but on execution, funding, and follow‑through. For Vermont’s contractors, that’s where the rubber meets the road.
