Support Fellow Swimmer Chris Harris!

Chris, originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, began swimming at age 5 and eventually came to New York City to swim for the team at Columbia University from 1993 to1997, where he swam alongside Justin from lane 7 as a sprinter. Chris has been with AGUA since college, from swimming for the club team during the summer to now working hard on the Masters team.

Chris's mother, Guerda Harris (née Marie-Jose Guerda Edeline), was born and raised in Haiti and was orphaned as a teenager. Through personal determination and the charity of people around her, she was given the tools to build a successful life and safe passage to the US, where she now resides with her family.
Inspired by his mother's story, Chris decided to use his passion for swimming to make a positive impact on the world. He is teaming up with Urban Swim to attempt a solo circumference of Manhattan for charity. The swim will cover a distance of 28.5 miles and is one of the most challenging, but also one of the most exhilarating, tests any swimmer can attempt.
Chris aims to raise $1,000 per day until the swim on Thursday, July 6 to support three important charities: + POOL, Have Faith Haiti, and Worldwide Orphans. We are looking for support from the swimming community to drive awareness and support through charitable contributions.
For more information on the swim and to contribute, visit Chris's website and follow him on Instagram!
