Summer is the perfect time to switch it up and try a different training location: open water!

Whether you’re brand new to swimming outside of a pool or you have experience and want to hone your skills, this is the perfect time to jump in. Let us know that you’re interested by filling out a short questionnaire today and we’ll hit the beach in no time.

Summer Practice Schedule

Summer is almost upon us! The pool at our Upper East Side campus switches to the new summer schedule Monday, June 27. Please view TeamUnify for our updated practice schedule at the Upper East Side campus.

Our practice schedule at the Battery Park City campus will remain the same.
Fourth of July Schedule

In observance of the holiday, Asphalt Green’s Upper East Side and Battery Park City campuses will operate under a modified members lap swim schedule from 8am to 1pm on Monday, July 4. We will forgo practice on July 4, 2022.

Training Tip
Are you traveling and missing your training? Try the workout below!

  • Warm up (Set yards: 700)
  • 400 swim
  • 6 x 50 kick at 1:00 / 1:05 / 1:15

  • Pre-set (Set yards: 1,200 / total workout yards so far: 1,900)
  • Butterfly drill: Two fly and two breast
  • Backstroke drill: Three strokes and six kicks
  • Breaststroke drill: Three dolphin kicks and one stroke
  • Freestyle drill: Three strokes and six kicks
  • 4 x IM order by round
  • 4 x 25 drill at 0:30
  • 200 nonstop as 100 IM and 100 free at 2:40 / 2:50 / 3:10

  • Main set (Set yards: 2,800 / total workout yards: 4,700)
  • Four rounds of IM order by round
  • You can use fins for the 75s
  • 4 x 75 as 50 str1 / 25 str2 at 1:15 / 1:20 / 1:40
  • Str = non-freestyle stroke
  • For example, 50 fly/25 back for round one
  • 100 free at 1:30 / 1:40 / 2:00
  • 2 x 100 IM descend by round at 1:45 / 1:50 / 2:20
