This holiday season will certainly be a special one. While I’m humbled by all the learning experiences I've had since COVID-19 struck, last year was filled with Zoom dinners and long-distance calls. And though the Omicron variant is surging, thanks to vaccinations and other advances, many of us will be able to celebrate with the ones we hold dear this holiday season. Speaking for the Beck family, I can say that we will be extra vigilant, but also indulgent in good food, way too loud, and enjoying a whole lot of fun. I hope you celebrate similarly, with lots of laughter and good food, and that you enjoy a wonderful holiday season.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the pool, and to revving up for an exciting 2022.

Let's Take a Swimming Trip
A few months back, I had solicited feedback on planning an AGUA Masters training trip. While some of you had been excited about the opportunity, given the nature of COVID-19, it just wasn't the right time. That said, it’s clear that the swimming world has created safe and enjoyable events; I know many of you have participated in meets around the country, and some of our open-water heroes have swum in the Global Swim Series races.
I would love to know if there is interest in joining a race in May 2022. The Global Swim Series races are incredible events, and this one is in sunny Mexico – El Cruce. Picture us at a beautiful beach resort, training in crystal clear water, and swimming from Cancun to Isla de Las Mujeres, an ancient Mayan world heritage site. If you are interested, check out this video and send me an email at jbeck@asphaltgreen.org. I’d love to get something on the books, but really want to hear from all of you!
