Reminder: Sign Up for the 2023 SCY Champs!
We’re reintroducing official U.S. Masters Swimming meets to the New York City metro area! The 2023 Short Course Yards (SCY) Championship will take place on Saturday, April 1 at Asphalt Green's Upper East Side campus. The meet will be sanctioned by the Metropolitan LMSC and they will record official times.

If you’re interested in getting qualifying times for SCY nationals, getting back into racing, or trying a few fun events for the first time, this is a great opportunity in your home pool. With limited spots left, we encourage you to register today!

Swim Workout

For those that are able to find extra time to swim, check out the following pool workout. Please note, these intervals are for short course yards but feel free to adjust as necessary.

  • Warmup (Set yards: 600)
  • 300 swim / 200 pull / 100 kick

  • Pre-set (Set yards: 1,800)
  • 5 x 100 swim at 1:45 as
  • Odd strokes - freestyle
  • Even strokes - IM drill
  • 8 x 50 swim at 0:55 as
  • Odd strokes - freestyle
  • Even strokes - IM swim
  • 12 x 25 IM order at max effort (with 3 of each stroke done in a row) at 0:25
  • 1:00 reset
  • 4 x 150 swim at 3:00 as 75 build to max effort and 75 active recovery

  • Main set (Set yards: 800)
  • 16 x 50 swim at max speed for a 100-yard race at 1:10 (If you want to swim a 100 freestyle at 1:00, then 50 yards should be swam at 0:30.)
