Dear AGUA Families,
It is unbelievable that it has been more than four months since we closed our doors. While I am proud of the resourcefulness and resiliency of our coaches and athletes as they pivoted to offline training and team learning, I am as anxious as you are to get our athletes back in the water. I would love nothing more than to be emailing you today with our reopening date, but unfortunately, that continues to remain unknown. Practice schedules will be dependent on city-approved lane capacity, which is a moving target as well.
We are leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to open the pool. We have presented reopening plans to the deputy mayor’s office, the Department of Health, and various government officials over the past few months. Additionally, our aquatics department prepared separate presentations proposing a reopening that would only include instruction and team practice. We have engaged lobbyists and lawyers to help in our efforts, and are in daily communication with them. We are also forming a coalition with other indoor pool operators in the city, including the JCC and the YMCA, to approach the mayor's office as a united front.
I understand and share your frustrations with the continued uncertainty, and promise that as soon as we receive approval, we are prepared to get back in the pool. If you haven't done so already, please review the document outlining our
return to AGUA plan
to ensure a smooth restart. In the coming weeks, we will have mandatory Zoom calls to review policies. All participants are expected to have read the document. I will continue to share information as it develops.

In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Asphalt Green has made the difficult decision to close both locations and suspend all programs and classes. We look forward to reopening as soon as possible.
